You may wonder why we have included this in our range well this is offered not as an alternative to a proper coffee machine but as an answer to a problem :-
Whilst of your travels have you struggled with getting decent coffee in hotels where the choice is instant or often over brewed filter coffee. Other than lugging your treasured coffee machine around on your travels there is few alternatives but to suffer indifferent coffee. The Moka pot has been an option but you have to find a stove to put it on, there are electric models but then how do you heat up the milk to make a decent cappuccino? Well there could be an answer….. Our founder came across this intriguing “Top Moka” on a recent trip through Italy and decided to give it a try he was “Very surprised and pleased with the results, at last we could enjoy a decent coffee in our hotel room”. The difference between the “Top Moka” and other “Moka Pots”(Millions of which are sold world wide) is that the coffee is brewed directly into cup. This method of brewing directly into the cup gave a much better crema and produced a coffee, whilst not comparable to that made in a “Prosuma Machine”, a good travelling substitute.
“Using a small boiling ring to heat up the milk and the frother produced a cappuccino better than anything produced outside of a proper coffee machine”.
An American friend (Who lives in Seattle home of Real coffee) who we met on our travels was so impressed with my little coffee maker this is what he said “I found your store with the double-headed espresso maker - and bought one. I have just about got the "right" amount of coffee figured out now. I am very pleased to have this miracle machine. I toast you each morning as I make my special brew of espresso.”
The “Moka Pot” has been around since the 1930’s and was Mussolini’s attempt to display how advanced the Italians were combining the new material aluminium with a new method of making coffee. The Moka method has been a firm favourite ever since and Millions are sold world wide.
The RB “Top Moka” travelling cappuccino procedure
1. Put milk into the small Frothing Jug and heat till just hot 2.Put two measures of pre ground coffee into the coffee chamber of the “Top Moka” 3. Put the “Top Moka” onto the stove with two cups under the spouts. 4. After a few minutes the coffee will percolate through into the cups. 5. When the coffee stops take the “Top Moka” and two cups of coffee off the stove (Remember it is hot so don’t put it onto any furniture) 6. Put the milk back onto the boiling ring and heat (Do Not Boil) 7. Froth the milk with the “Handy Frother” and hey presto a half decent cappuccino!
