This lot from the Twongerekawa Coko cooperative is 100% sourced from women producers.

Situated in Rwanda's Northern Province, the Gekenke district lies near the Volcanoes National Park, home to 1 of only 3 populations of mountain gorillas in the world.

The Twongerekawa Coko coop works with over 1200 local smallholders.

They use manure and coffee pulp as organic fertiliser, making the most of the rich volcanic soil, abundant sunshine and tropical rainfall to cultivate the Bourbon varietal. The coffee is hand picked then depulped and dry fermented. After fermentation, the coffee is then washed and dried on raised beds for 14-21 days.
